I’ve decided not to bore you with details from the drive home yesterday. It went well, despite PJ having been up since before dawn and cranky as a result. I just took things slowly, stopping to feed BabyN before he started screaming from hunger. The boys cooperated relatively well, too, so that it wasn’t too stressful. Thanks for all your prayers. I don’t think I’ll volunteer to do that often, but at least now I know it can be done–well, as long as I can keep up with this bladder of steel.
Today M and I worked hard to get lots of stuff done. We spent just about all of his bonus check already, between paying off the credit card with my camera on it and buying Christmas presents. One trip out this afternoon for about two hours and another few minutes online, and we’re nearly done with our Christmas shopping. It helped that we had a pretty good idea what we wanted to get everybody already. We just found it and bought it without a second thought, and now we’re just left with wrapping everything.
PJ is getting a play kitchen for Christmas this year. I have no idea whether he’ll like it, but I think he will. Girly or not, he’s obsessed with kitchen stuff about now. It makes sense since his daddy is usually the one in the kitchen doing the cooking, so it must be a manly task. We also got him a potty chair. It looks like we’ll be starting potty training shortly after we return from our Christmas trip. I’m terrified, but I’ve put it off as long as possible. Time to suck it up and force PJ into this next milestone. Is it sad that I’d rather keep changing diapers than sit by him on the potty for hour after hour during the day?
